NHS Charges

Unless you are eligible for free NHS dental care, you will be obliged to pay 80% of the cost of your NHS dental treatment, up to a maximum of £384 per course of treatment.

The table below shows examples of costs for several types of NHS treatment. Fees are effective March 20, 2023.

Please keep in mind that the NHS pricing system is complex and varies greatly from patient to patient depending on the therapy required.

Who is qualified for free NHS dental care?

You can receive free treatment if you are:
Aged under 26.
Pregnant or had a baby in the last 12 months.
Named on a valid NHS tax certificate.
Receiving Income support or Income related Employment Support Allowance.
Income based job seekers allowance
Pension credit guaranteed credit.
Named on a valid HC2 or HC3 certificate.

Aesthetic dental treatments like tooth whitening, tooth-coloured fillings on molars, or a tooth-coloured crown on a molar are not covered by the NHS and must be paid for privately.
